“In Recognition of Excellence” Honors Teachers, Administrators and Seniors

Baldwin High School recently hosted “In Recognition of Excellence”—a heartwarming evening that is unique to the Baldwin Union Free School District. This Baldwin tradition, which began over 25 years ago, honors students and teachers, as well as administrators, who have made a positive and lasting impact on each other's lives. Supported in part by a grant from the Baldwin Foundation for Education (BFE), the program committee selects 10 seniors based on their contributions to their schools and more importantly, their character.

These students then choose three teachers—one from elementary school, one from middle school, and one from high school—who have deeply inspired them both academically and personally. Amid laughter and tears, the seniors shared heartfelt stories about how these Baldwin educators helped shape them into the remarkable individuals they are today.
